Lecture: Stargazing in Budapest
The Center for Global Education is delighted to invite you to:
Stargazing in Budapest: Constellations of History
This lecture is offered by Dr. Matthew Adamson, Director of Academic and Student Affairs at McDaniel College, Budapest, one of Gettysburg’s affiliated global study program partners. This will be a visual-filled talk that connects Budapest's historical dots and reflects on how we do--or don't--recognize the historical background of what we witness as we go about our daily lives. There will ties to the Gettysburg historical experience and memory as well! Everyone is welcome to attend this 30 minute lecture, followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.
Dr. Adamson’ s interests include the history of the France, the French nuclear program, and the history of twentieth-century science and technology in general. His current lines of research include examination of the public announcements of chemist Bertrand Goldschmidt and their relationship to his role in the French atomic energy program, and the history of uranium prospection in France proper. He has been the McDaniel College’ s Director of Academic and Student Affairs in Budapest since November 2008.
