Musselman Lecture: Dr. Helen Blackwell
The Gettysburg College Chemistry Department welcomes Dr. Helen Blackwell as our 2019 Musselman Visiting Speaker. Dr. Blackwell comes to us from the University of Wisconsin - Madison where she is a Full Professor of Chemistry and leads a research program at the very interface of organic chemistry and bacteriology. The broad goal of her research is to understand the role of chemical signals in bacterial interactions and infectious disease. This is Dr. Blackwell's third lecture at Gettysburg College, in a series of 4 lectures and conversations with students and faculty.
Her final lecture, entitled "Materials and assemblies that sense and respond to communities of bacteria", will be offered on Friday, November 22nd at 1:00pm in Science Center Room 300.
