The Role of the Science and a Pandemic in an Election Year with Caitlin Bergstrom and Toby James

Caitlin Bergstrom will discuss how scientists can engage in the electoral process, as well as the need for candidates at all levels to include science as part of their platform. Toby James will examine how the COVID-19 pandemic’s challenge to democracy and electoral integrity across the world.

Caitlin Bergstrom is a Public Affairs Analyst at the American Geophysical Union in Washington, DC. Toby James is a Professor of Politics and Public Policy at the University of East Anglia in the UK. His research interests focus on electoral management, election administration, and political leadership.
