Designing Object-Driven Exhibits: Using Historical Objects to Highlight Historical Objectivity
Rebecca Duffy is an alumna of the Gettysburg College Class of 2016. While she was here at Gettysburg she majored in Art History and History and minored in East Asian Studies and Public History, working closely with the Center for Public Service and the Schmucker Art Gallery. Following her undergraduate degree, Rebecca completed a master's in American Material Culture and Museum Studies in the Winterthur Program and the University of Delaware with concentrations in 19th century decorative and unique, yet functional ceramics and 19th century collecting. Today, she serves as the Education Coordinator at the Read House & Gardens in Historic New Castle, Delaware and consults on exhibitions at the Winterthur Museum. Her most recent work includes her master's thesis and small-scale exhibit "The Age of Aquaria: The Aquarium Pursuit and Personal Fish-Keeping, 1850-1920" and the new Winterthur exhibition, "Hamilton & Burr: Who Wrote their Stories?"
